I am going to share what you need to do when a kitchen fire occurs.

Firstly, when there is fire, grab your fire extinguisher or use the telephone to call the fire safety department. This is for everyone living in a home, you need a fire extinguisher for safety purpose.


Below are List of kitchen Fire Causes.

▪ OIL

Oil can cause kitchen fire, if a fire erupts from the oil or grease from your cooking and you are not sure of what to do, try not to pour water over rather use an extinguisher or use a heavy clothe to douse it.

Make use of pots and pans that have lids and pot holder handy so that in case a fire starts you can easily grab.

when you're cooking and oil spills ignite fire and your pot or pan is burning, speedily use an oven glove to bring your pan down, use the lid to cover the pan so as to quench the smoke or fire. Then you can turn off your gas, open the windows and doors for ventilation and move away to allow the smoke to fade off.

▪ OVEN


Fire can erupt from Microwave, Gas Cooker, Industrial Cooker or Electric Cooker. When you are in the kitchen, be aware that your electric outlet can break out fire if it malfunctions, also your stove top. So what do you do?

a: Close the oven door and turn the knob off, if the fire didn't cease use your extinguisher or call fire service office. Make sure your oven is examined and repairs carried out before usage.

b: When you have a fire caused by your microwave, you need to hold the door closed, turn it off and unplug it. Call your appliance technician to get it fixed and make sure not to use it until it's repaired.

Electrical Fire 


To prevent fire mishap don't overload your home or shops. when a flame erupts make use of an extinguisher and do not use water. Try to stay away from the floor area or the hearth where the fire emanate from even if you have put the fire off.

Every home need to be equipped with an extinguisher because you have a kitchen and cook and there may be possible fire mishap.

When you are face with home fire or kitchen Fire, get your family out of the house to a safe place. And in case the fire is not put out, remove yourself away from there. A small fire can result to big fire that roars and lead to a huge burns and damages.

Don't see workouts as a boring activity, maintaining a healthy life require being active. whether by running, jogging, walking or any other gym aerobics. Make sure to exercise at least 3 times a week, Endeavour to keep yourself motivated.

Try out fun activities with friends, families and colleague's to keep you going and living a great healthy life. Eat good veggies, drink lots of water, eat some good proteins, fats and carbohydrates.

3: Don't embark on healthy life for anybody other than for yourself. It's your life and you should do what pleases you, encourages you and uplift you.

Never want six packs because someone's pressure you, don't go out for all the squats just to impress a guy. Rather you should get them because you want and while working for It, you stay focus just for yourself.

Fitness helps us mentally, our brain disciplines us on the dos and don'ts. Martial is also a good source of active life, the journey of living a healthy life is all about being disciplined, staying focused is also about discipline.


Taking a walk daily, helps your body stay active, sometimes you can dump the lift and use the stairs. If your work-place is closer to your home, live your car at home and walk to work. forget about the bus or taxi and make use of your feet.

Nutrition Our nutrition also plays a part in our healthy lifestyle, so CHOOSE a good healthy long term nutrition and stay away from dieting. Empower your mind to achieve your life goal, psychologically prepare yourself for the task ahead of you.

Meditation is a powerful tool, so use it wisely. Focus your mind on the goal ahead, Healthy Lifestyle is achievable but you need a clear and calm state of mind to embark on it.

Meditation helps to reduce stress, anxiety, depression and pain. If at any point in your journey you feel like giving up, meditate to mentally and emotional stabilize yourself.

YOU'LL  NEED

A: 1 Medium sliced cucumber

B: 1 Medium lemon cut in small wedges

C: 2 Liters of clean water

D: 1 chunk peeled Ginger grated or thinly sliced

E: 15-20 small Mint leaves

F: Air tight container


PREP METHOD

Fill in your bowl or jug or container with fresh clean water, not to full brim.

Pour in your sliced lemon, cucumber, ginger and mint.

Mix the mixture to incorporate well, cover and put inside your refrigerator.

NOTE:

Consume first thing in the morning, during lunch and dinner for a full day.

Homemade Soft Bread

I love HOMEMADE Food be it snacks, Staple Foods or Bread. I try my hands on any new FOOD I found out as long as the ingredients are available in my country of origin.

There was a period in Nigeria that cost of cosumable goods where high both raw materials and its end products, due to RECESSION.
I was buying BREAD at a high cost all because flour price was inflated. And my family's bread consumption was at an alarming rate which was making me spend hugely on bread every week-days.

So one good day I sat down and say to myself I was going to try my hands on making HOMEMADE BREAD, I have a mixer and gas oven including bread pan that I was using in baking cake. So I went online and searched for bread recipes, I got so many and that was how my HOMEMADE BREAD journey began.

My first bread wasn't bad but it was not the perfect bread as well, second came, third and not till the fourth attempt that I got it right. Soft not too stretchy and nice tasty bread.

So I took a picture of it and shared it on Nairaland Forum where I visit for others who were going through the hard RECESSION that we were faced with at that period.

Here is the bread recipe for anyone who might be interested in making HOMEMADE [DIY] BREAD.

YOU WILL NEED:

4 cups flour

1/2 tsp salt

2 tsp yeast

2 tbsp oil

1 cup water plus 2tbsp

2 tbsp sugar or more

1 tbsp milk powder

1 tbsp low fat margarine or butter..

Directions:

If you have a mixer and it has bread hook, then, Shift your flour in the mixing bowl, add your sugar, salt, yeast, milk and butter.

Mix with hand, make a well in the flour and pour in your water, oil and add any flavour of your choice if you want max half teaspoon.

Mix by hand or with a spatula. When it's folded attach your bread hook to your mixer and start kneading it for 8 -10 mins.

Bring your bowl out and cover very well for 1 and half hours.

Take back to knead again for 3-5 mins more. Flour a suface or kneading wood and knead by hand to make sure it's not sticky then roll like a ball and spread it long to fit into your already greased pan. Place the dough in the pan and cover for 45 mins to 1hour.

Then bake in a preaheated oven in medium heat for 30- 35 mins or until the bread is done. You can do egg wash before baking or after baking you melt little butter and run on top of the bread and allow to cool.

For Preservation:

Your bread won't go stale for atleast 3-4 days if you put in the fridge. But if you want to keep for a week to weeks then you can add rum or powderd preservatives.

NB. Please the water should be room temperature.

If you are using hand, then knead it for 10-12 mins and knead for 5 mins the second time on floured surface.

Crispy Homemade Butter Cookies

When the kids are on holidays, I tend to bake for them as much as i can. It is also an avenue of bonding with them as we all tend to cook, bake and gist.
So many mommies can testify that cooking with kids is a great task because you will answer questions alot, give explanations to things confusing to the kids.

In as much as it's a daunting task, its a great way to know your kids sense of reasoning, expressions and areas of interest. My kids have interest in cooking, Ooh they want to cook everything even at early stage, which is why I cook with them so they can learn fast.

And I so much love to bake snacks for my kids both for home use and school. This crispy butter cookies is one of the easiest cookies with less ingredients. Though I won't deny the fact that is unhealthy when consumed regularly, but once in a while won't hurt, right?

RECIPE BELOW

Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups of all purpose flour

125g butter or margarine

125g Sugar or 1 cup

1 Egg

1teaspoon vanilla essence

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt.

Directions:

Sieve the flour and baking powder in a mixing bowl, add sugar and salt and mix with hand.

Add butter or margarine, egg and Your vanilla or any flavour of your choice.

Mix all together to get a soft buttery dough

cover and put in your fridge for 30 mins -1hour.

Bring the dough and cut to any shape of your choice, use fork or toothpick to prick little holes on the dough. spread a baking sheet or paper on your baking tray and line your cookie dough on it. Bake at 150-180 degrees that means medium heat [depends on your oven temperature setting]. Bake for 25-30 mins or until golden brown.

Tips: you don't need to knead or flour the cookie dough anymore.

DIY- Making Tiny Bows With Ribbons

Each time I want to give out gifts or cards, I'd always love to have a beautiful topper on it. I've always disliked most traditional toppers like the plastic Pom Poms because they are so big and often look out of place on most gifts. It seems designers of these Pom Poms often forget that they are toppers (and should be small and cute), so I've had to make do with tissue Pom Poms which I often make for myself as a do-it-yourselfer but I had to abandon those too when I discovered something even more beautiful for my gifts - tiny bows.

I still make use of tissue Pom Poms but that's on very rare occasions. I now make use of tiny bows on most gifts. Tiny bows are super cute and they fit perfectly as toppers for almost any gift wrap or cards. It seems tiny bow is what I've been wanting all along. They are so tiny and add that girly feel to every gifts and card that I just can't do without them and I think every do-it-yourselfer out there should try them out at least once, maybe even right away!

There's just something about bows that fascinates us, that makes us all want them on our clothes, hair and even on our decors. I think we'll all just agree that bows are not only beautiful for designs, they are super awesome. If you're like me always looking for ways to decorate your gifts and make them as attractive as possible, then you should try these tiny bows, they are cute and super easy to make!
You can even try this simple projects with your children or school kids especially if you are teaching children between the age of 6-10. Tiny bows are quite easy to make and the kids will love you for this if you can pull this off and teach them how to make these beautiful bows.

Below you'll find a step-by-step guide on how to make beautiful tiny bows, however a few tips before you go down there and get your fingers busy.

1. Chiffons are the best materials to make tiny beautiful bows. You can easily find them in almost any small-wares.

2. Always shape your bow while it's still on the fork as it is easier then than after you have removed it - always strike while the iron is hot!

Things You'll Need:
Scissors
Candle
Fork
Chiffon ribbons
Satin ribbons

DIRECTIONS:

Step 1
Take a fork with the prongs facing upward. Make sure the fork is also facing forward.

Step 2
Weave the ribbon alternately between the prongs of the fork.

Step 3
Repeat the alternate weave four times around the prong.

Step 4
Thread another ribbon under the braided ribbon and between the middle prong of the fork. Hold the braided ribbon to the fork to keep it in place.

Step 5
Now tie the second ribbon loosely and direct the ends of both ribbons inward.

Step 6
You should have a tiny bow on the fork right now. Take it off by pulling it gently over the top.

Step 7
Cut the ends of both ribbons diagonally

Step 8
Trim the edges by burning it on the candle and you should have a beautiful tiny bow!

How To Take Care Of Your Natural Hair Tips

For Naturalisters, it's no news that we have delicate Hair but the Tips are most delicate and are unprotected from  breakage,  because they are the oldest part of the hair.

1. MOISTURIZING: Water is a good source moisturizer, but it tends to evaporate if not properly sealed in. A butter-based moisturizer with water (aqua) as the first ingredient on the list will keep your ends stay soft and well moisturized.

Simply apply the moisturizer on your hands and scrunch it in (best done before styling your hair). In the absence of a store-bought moisturizer, you can use aloe vera gel.

2. SEAL WITH HEAVY BASED OIL: You can also keep your ends protected by sealing with heavy oils e.g. [Jamaican Black Castor Oil (JBCO)]. You can make do with the regular castor oil, it's also thick enough to seal your ends.

This oil keeps your ends clumped together, hence preventing breakage. [Remember, you can easily break a single stick of a broom but it would be difficult to break a whole bunch].

3. TUCK THEM AWAY: You can tuck your ends in Buns, Rolls, Doughnuts, Pin Up, Up-dos or Thread it.

NOTE- Our natural hair, on the average grows half an inch every month. We need to put measures in place to retain that length.

Fluffy Homemade Pancake Mix Recipe

Have you ever craved for a fluffy light pancake but you don't get the right mix for it? Well that has been my case for years until I discovered this mix.

So here, want to share My fluffy tasty pancake mix, the best that I have used.

Actually In my pancake recipe journey, I discovered this recipe and I promise you it's great and you should give it a try. Kids loves it, yeah my kidos do.


First off I did a pancake mix to be able to get the perfect pancake cos I have tried so many recipes that turned out imperfect for me. The mix can be stored in an air-tight container and can last for 3 months which I think you won't keep up to.

For The Mix Ingredients:
•5 cups flour
•1 1/4 cups of powdered milk
•1/2 cup sugar
•1/4 cup baking powder
•1 tablespoon salt.

Directions:
•Sift flour and baking powder in a big bowl
•Add sugar, milk, salt.
•Mix well and store in an air tight container.

So to make a fluffy pancake for breakfast, You just need the take the measurement below

Fluffy Pancake Recipe:
•Measure 1 cup of mix
•1 egg
•1 cup of warm water( that's if you want a light pancake) but if you prefer heavy one reduce the water.
•1 tablespoon veg oil or coconut oil
•A pinch of cinnamon if you desire.

Directions:
•Put the pancake mix in a bowl
•Add your egg and half of the 1 cup of water
•Mix to a paste, add oil and the remaining water.
•Mix very well.
•Heat ur pan in a medium heat.
•Put small oil allow to heat
•Pour batter in allow to cook
•flip the other side and cook till golden brown

Useful Ways To Thicken Natural Hair With Beer

Using any kind of beer helps to achieve a voluminous thick Hair and adds shine to it. It is used for reparing damaged hair, to regrow hair and stop slipt-ends breakage. Strengthens your hair cuticle, upload shine and amazingly, enhance hair growth. All these benefits are achievable because of the brewer's yeast found inside beers.

PROCESS:

1. Pour beer into a cup or bowl.

2. Keep it open for a few hours to degas (it can be left open in a single day or for five hours and greater). The beer needs to be flat before use.

3. After washing your hair, deep conditioning and rinsing, pour the flat beer onto the hair. Ensure that the beer gets to every strand of your hair, massage scalp and cover for five-ten minutes.

4. Rinse your hair with fresh cold running water.

Tips-: You can do this weekly or monthly

AS A LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER OR SETTING LOTION:

Mix 2 parts of flat beer, 2 parts of water,
add 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar
you could add 1-2 drops of any scented essential oil of your choice if you desire.

How To use-:

CupCake With Hershay's Chocolate Syrup

So recently went Grocery shopping and spot this Chocolate syrup on the counter, so I picked it up, paid and went home.



My kids Love Cupcake, so I made some batch for school snacks Tomrrow.
Below is the Recipe for this moist fluffly yummilicious cupcake. Being that it's my first time to use the syrup, I added little just to check out the end product.

INGREDIENTS:

1 1/2 cup All purpose flour

175g Margarine

150g White Sugar

3 Medium size Eggs

1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder

A pinch of Salt

1 tablespoon Powdered Milk flavour

1/4 cup Desiccated Coconut

1/2 teaspoon butterscotch flavour

2 tablespoon Rum

2 tablespoon Hershey's Chocolate Syrup

DIRECTIONS:

Whip Margarine and sugar in a mixing bowl and use a hand mixer to mix it for 20 mins.

Add Eggs one after the other and mix for 10 mins each.

Add in sieved Flour and baking powder, desiccated coconut, salt, milk flavour and mix on low speed for 5 mins.

Add in Rum and Butterscotch flavour, mix for 3 mins, and lastly fold in the Hershay's Chocolate Syrup and mix for 3 mins or until well incorporated.

Heat your oven at 150°, Line your cupcake pan with cupcake paper. I used a locally made cupcake cups. Fill in with a piping bag or scoop with an ice cream spoon if you have one.

Bake for 45mins or until it's done, you can do toothpick test.
