Homemade Meat-Pie Recipe

When you have kids and you work from home as a mum, you should make attempt at baking your kids snacks. By doing that, you know what goes in and it's Nutritional value to your kids and the family.

Most times those commercialized snacks can be dangerous to our health with this reasons below.

Environment: Unless you know the environment where the pastries are made, you will agree with me that it can POSE hazzard health risk to your kids and other members of your family. The water might be contaminated, there might be defecation hanging around where the pastries are made. Rotten Eggs and Veggies might be used, Etc. 

Source: you won't be certain if the flour, sugar, butter are in good condition and have life span for consumption. There are tendencies that expired goods will be used for making and baking those pastries we buy for our kids.

There's always a start filled with failures but don't give up and continue trying till you get it right or you enroll in a pastry class to learn how to make them.

I am sharing my meat-pie RECIPE for any one interested and please you can contribute to the post by sharing your thoughts on the comment box.

MEAT-PIE is a Nigerian snack that are served in parties and any other celebrations. People snack on it as a fast food when famished with hunger and it usually goes with a soft chilled drink, juice, zobo, Etc. 

Ingredients
For filling  (I didn't load it)
▪2 medium size carrot
▪3 Irish potatoes
▪1 medium onions
▪I knor cube
▪Salt  to taste
▪4 pcs of Beef  meat ( I grinded it myself)
▪1 tsp rosemary grinded preferably
▪1 tsp  curry.

For pastry
▪3 cups flour
▪1 tsp baking powder (optional)
▪2 tbsp sugar (optional)
▪100gm margrine
▪Half cup room temperature water plus extra little.

Directions
▪Grind  your beef with onions together.
▪Cut your carrot and potatoe wash and boil, add your beef.
▪Boil till soft and the water dried.
▪Add 2 tablespoon veg oil, seasoning, salt, rosemary, curry.
▪Mix 2 tbsp of flour with little water to get a loose batter, pour it inside your veggies sauce for hold (This optional  but most people do this).
▪Stir till it incorporates, Bring down and allow to cool.
▪In A big bowl sift your flour and baking powder, add sugar, salt and butter.
▪Mix to incorporate the butter, add water and mix to get a soft dough that is not sticky.
▪Cover and put inside the fridge for 20 mins.

Cutting
▪On a floured Board cut the size of dough you desire, roll it to get a circle shape you can place it in a meatpie cutter or you add your sauce manually.
▪After you are done, egg wash and bake until golden brown on low heat at 190°
